On the event website: www.ghpc.at  you can learn that GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER is one of Austria’s most modern equestrian facilities. For self-confessed horse fanatic Gaston Glock, the planning and building of this exceptional venue is a dream come true. His vision was to create a state-of-the-art environment for the riders and horses that participate in national and international equestrian sports. Located in the southernmost part of Austria, the GHPC offers unique opportunities for events of this kind. In addition to luxury stables, two air-conditioned, heatable indoor arenas and a large covered dressage ring, fans of equestrian sports will also find extensive outdoor facilities for dressage, show jumping and other competitions that are a cut above the rest.

Edzer shines in the Copenhagen Dressage Championships

In the finals of this weekends Copenhagen Dressage Championships Edzer, FEI Pony, again competed up against the horses. And he and his rider Helene Brinck showed star quality with a score of more than 70% in Saturdays warm-up class and a third place in final scores after Sundays competition. What a great achievement!

Note: Edzer is presently competing amongst the horses as his rider Helene has passed the age-limit for pony riders

Aston Martin finds his new match

Aston Martin, graded DWB Trakehener stallion  has found his new partner. He will be Helene Mehlsen’s, talented danish dressage rider, new top horse. And we suppose that Aston Martin is her ambition to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 for Denmark. Helene Mehlsen is still young, but a quite merited rider already, as she has been part of the danish U25 team and has also competed internationally as a Young Rider and Junior. Her previous GP horse: Akeem by DBW Lobster has reached an age where top performances can not be expected, and even if Helene Mehlsen has several young stars in her stable, amongst those the graded stallion Blue Hors Dexter, the graded stallion 6 YO Rosetti – part of the danish long list for the Young Horses World Championships with rider Jan Christensen in the saddle, and young hope 4 YO Adrenalin Firfod there is no doubt that Aston Martin will be the jewell in the crown of her supreme collection of talented horses. Helene Mehlsen is trained by Michael Søgaard and we are expecting that the trio will challenge the established danish dressage scene in the future.

We are pleased that Aston Martin has found his match in a local danish rider, even though there has been no lack of international interest and requests. His video  played more than 6900 times with viewers from 73 different countries. Ambitious riders from all corners of the world  travelled to see him live. We congratulate Helene Mehlsen!

Nanna Merrald & Weltliebe wins National Level Intermediate I at Frederiksværk

Weltliebe and Nanna Merrald took the number one spot and the victory in Sundays Intermediate I Class with 69% at Frederiksværk’s National Level Dressage Tournament. The very competent judges panel including Jesper Holst Hansen, Niels-Erik Bøchman and Leif Törnblad ensured that points were sharp. Nanna has not competed Weltliebe in a long time, as it is her sisters Sandra Merrald’s horse. But todays round did revel the potential of Weltliebe being well above 70%, as a couple of expensive mistakes; a misunderstanding before one of the pirouettes and mistake in the tempis’ meant serious deduction in the score. But as Nanna afterwards said:  “I am quite satisfied with the result especially as I have only taken over riding Weltliebe after returning back from the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Finals in Lyon 2 weeks ago”. We congratulate Team Merrald with Weltliebes victory today, and congratulate Lene Hoberg on DiCaprio, 2nd and Thomas Dolleris Larsen on Don Alfredo, for 3rd place.
